About Us
I’m Kary Siegfried, a San Diego native. Over my lifetime, I have watched the homeless problem grow to epidemic proportions.
In 2019, while I was managing a 62,000 sq. ft. commercial building in La Jolla, I encountered homeless individuals squatting in the building. In an effort to resolve the issue, I attempted to advocate on their behalf. I quickly learned that doing so was an Herculean task but it shouldn't be. Our system is broken. People donate to large organizations however a majority of these funds go to overhead, marketing and salaries instead of directly to individuals urgently in need. Every in-kind or monetary donation to Kary’s Helping Hand goes directly to someone in need. |
